Set designer


Sara Slivnik is today one of the most prominent Slovenian set designers. After studying in San Sebastian and completing an internship in Helsinki, Finland, she graduated in architecture from the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Ljubljana. Between 2016 to 2019, she worked as a technical producer at at the Slovenian National Theatre Drama Ljubljana, while also teaching at the Faculty of Architecture, University of Ljubljana. She has collaborated with established Slovenian and foreign set designers such as Meta Hočevar, Branko Hojnik, Raimund Orfeo Voigt, Dragos Buhagiar, and Sven Jonke (Numen/For Use) and others.. In 2019, she participated in an international summer program at the Watermill Center, curated by the American director Robert Wilson. As a set designer, she collaborates with leading Slovenian theatres. Since 2023, she has been working as a teaching assistant for set design at the Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television. In the Transport project, by intertwining film and theatrical elements, she creates surprisingly convincing hyperrealistic microcosms that completely captivate the viewer with their minute details, drawing them into an illusion of reality.
