Tin Grabnar

Director


Tin Grabnar works at the intersection of performative and performing practices, especially as a renowned researcher and investigator of contemporary puppetry. In 2015, he graduated from the Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television in Ljubljana under the mentorship of Sebastijan Horvat. He has furthered his expertise by collaborating with established directors such as Tomi Janežič, Tomaž Pandur and Jernej Lorenci, which has given him a comprehensive insight into various theatrical practices and performing strategies. His work skilfully combines elements of dance, improvisation, contemporary puppetry, magic, performance and visual art. His performances Somewhere Else and Still Life, produced by the Ljubljana Puppet Theatre, have won him numerous national and international awards. His creative oeuvre focuses on visually powerful and substantive performances that explore key emotional, ethical and philosophical issues, highlighting sustainable living as a central theme in both content and production contexts.
